Last weekend, on November 4th and 5th, EcoAtivo held its second Agroforestry WorkCamp at the Ananda Valley facilities. The main focus of this WorkCamp was practical immersion in the relationship with the land and plants, through the application of the syntropic agriculture model.
The event was divided between theoretical moments, joint sharing and discussions, and, above all, hands-on application in the field.
With a total of 7 participants, we were able to promote greater biodiversity in two distinct planting areas, creating favorable conditions for the regeneration and robust, healthy growth of the plants in this agroforest — taken as an example for the individual work each participant would go on to develop in their own projects.
On the first day, we applied natural compost made from olive leaves in the corridors between the planting rows, in order to enrich the soil. In addition, new trees were planted, and smaller aromatic plants were inserted in between them. Each new plant was carefully fertilized with mycorrhiza and cow manure to promote more stable and nourishing resilience.
On the second day of activities, efforts and learning were focused on the cherry tree cultivation area, adding more diversity to the growth rows through fertilization and planting methods.
These were two days full of learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, all in support of developing richer, more beautiful, and more balanced ecosystems.
